About Advanced Rapid Detox
Advanced Rapid Detox is a licensed, private, inpatient hospital for opiate and alcohol detoxification. They offer rapid detox from these substances. The facility is on Orchard Lake Road in Farmington Hills, Michigan. If you’re over 40, you have to have a stress test before starting their rapid detox program.
The center does not file insurance for you, but they will give you a superbill to submit to your insurance company. It’s advisable to check with your insurance first to see if the services are covered.
The first day of your stay is for a physical exam, lab work, and a meeting with the therapist. The second day is your detox treatment. During the treatment, you’ll have around the clock medical monitoring in an intensive care setting with a personal caregiver to monitor you. The detox is a 24 hour process.
The doctor uses a proprietary procedure called opiate reversal. They use IV sedation, not general anesthesia, but you’ll sleep lightly through withdrawal while the process reverses opiates from the opioid receptors in your brain and body. You won’t be intubated, and you won’t have a catheter. After detox, you’ll go back to a private room with a private bathroom and you’ll continue to be monitored.
Once through withdrawal, you’ll start on oral daily naltrexone or monthly Vivitrol shot. They’re medications to reduce or eliminate cravings. Methadone and Suboxone are not offered. On day three of your stay, you’ll rest and be monitored for symptoms such as chills or restless legs. Some patients get a ketamine infusion for depression or post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at this time. You’ll have access to psychotherapy while in the facility.
On day four, most people are discharged and go home. You’ll be eligible for aftercare for anything related to your detox from the medical team, including your doctor.
