About Aegis Treatment Centers | Oxnard
The Aegis Treatment Center in suburban Oxnard, California, is a methadone clinic that offers an outpatient drug treatment program. The organization is CARF-accredited.
They do accept insurance such as Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE. If you do not have insurance, you will have the option to self pay for your treatment.
The facility is located in the Cal-Gisler neighborhood. I love that the center is in a coastal town near the Pacific Ocean. You’ll be able to access the fun attractions that are nearby. Nearby is Heritage Square, Channel Islands Harbor, and the Mandalay and Silver Strand beaches.
What stood out to me is that they’re open seven days a week, with dosing hours as well. You’ll be in a supportive environment in a clean, warmly-lit clinical setting. With a combination of therapy and medication for opioid use disorder, you’ll be able to overcome your opioid dependence. Their scheduling is flexible, therefore you can still attend to your daily responsibilities.
Methadone and buprenorphine are the medications that they use for medication assisted treatment (MAT). This is not a stand alone service; it’s offered in combination with counseling. The medication will help ease your withdrawal symptoms and reduce your cravings, so that you may be able to focus on your treatment and recovery.
A clinical and medical assessment will be done so that the staff may be able to evaluate your physical and mental health. They will also go over your substance abuse history, to create a comprehensive and balanced treatment plan for you.
I do like that telehealth counseling services are offered. To help you understand your disease you will receive education about substance use disorders. You will also have access to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), life skills development, and relapse prevention.
