About Anaheim Lighthouse Treatment Center
Anaheim Lighthouse is on West Pearl Street in Anaheim, California, two miles from Disneyland. They’re CARF accredited and have special treatment programs for people with alcohol and substance use disorders (SUD). The first step in their drug and alcohol treatment program is detoxification. The center offers residential detox for people with mild withdrawal symptoms.
It’s good to know that you can start detox at the facility any time. They offer around-the-clock admissions seven days a week and the program accepts insurance from many major providers.
Once you’re in the program, you’ll have a team of people helping you with detox including a board-certified internal medicine doctor and an addiction specialist. You’ll have monitoring 24 hours a day, every day. Detox is often the hardest part of a substance use treatment program because it can be scary to think about life without the substance that’s been helping you cope and withdrawal symptoms can be difficult to deal with.
While in the detox program, you can expect to feel a range of symptoms, both physical and emotional. You may have fatigue, depression, anxiety, and cravings. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can help with these difficult withdrawal symptoms.
As you detox, you’ll be introduced to the 12-step model of recovery. This is an abstinence model of recovery. You’ll be encouraged to attend 12-step meetings like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). You’ll have ongoing support through group therapy. If possible, they’ll include your loved ones in family therapy sessions.
After detoxification, you can meet with your treatment team to decide on the best course of action. You may want to continue with an inpatient treatment program or begin with outpatient recovery.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Intervention
An intervention is a structured and professionally guided conversation with an individual who is struggling with addiction. During the conversation, family and friends will encourage you to seek treatment. This is often a pivotal step for those resistant to getting help.
