About Bernalillo County Medical Center Metropolitan Assessment and Treatment
CARE Campus Detox, formerly the Metropolitan Assessment and Treatment Services, is an alcohol and drug rehab and part of Bernalillo County’s Department of Behavioral Health Services. The center provides residential social detox and aftercare for young adults and adults. Specialized services are available for justice-involved persons.
CARE Campus Detox offers clients structured surroundings to ease withdrawal pains and reduce cravings with 24/7 supervision. The 48-bed facility is co-ed, with a ratio of 32 men to 16 women. The center is intended for short stays, and clients receive educational workshops, relapse prevention strategies, and drug screenings.
After detox, CARE Campus Detox makes referrals for long-term inpatient (IP) or outpatient (OP) programs at outside treatment centers. Limited follow-ups may be included to coordinate the clients’ care programs.
CARE Campus Detox is free for clients. Additional referrals and services from the University of New Mexico Hospital may accrue an additional charge. Please check your insurance provider, such as Aetna, Beacon, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, Optum, and WellPoint, for out of coverage benefits.
