About Birch Tree Center
The Birch Tree Center is an accredited residential crisis stabilization facility for mental and behavioral health emergencies. Support is available to adults aged 18 and older, regardless of your background. You’ll find ’em located out in Duluth, Minnesota.
They can work with your insurance providers, whether through medical assistance, public health plans, or private companies. Grants and other funding sources are also available to those eligible.
The priority here is stabilization, with programming designed to boost clients’ mental and psychiatric stability. They offer you time and space to process any emotional and personal adjustments, as well as the tools and skills to cope independently in the future. Services are short-term, with a focus on recovery. Here, clients will work with staff to develop a personalized treatment plan with realistic, and achievable goals to suit their personal situation.
Initially, individuals will go through a crisis assessment procedure to determine the severity of their condition, and so the team can get some insight into their situation and medical background. What follows is intervention, with 24-hour nursing care. Although there’s 24/7 care, you’ll be responsible for your own daily needs.
Medication is offered to help individuals manage symptoms, which in the case of extreme substance abuse cases might look like uncomfortable or even life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, and cravings. Medication management and monitoring services are also included, with short-term, solution-focused rehab services to hand.
While in treatment, clients can enjoy the comfort of a private room during their stay. There are common rooms for your friends and loved ones to drop by and support your recovery.
Symptom management and relapse prevention services, combined with aftercare planning are provided to set clients up for once the worst has passed. They may be referred on to more intensive services if they might benefit from continuing care.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Intervention
An intervention is a structured and professionally guided conversation with an individual who is struggling with addiction. During the conversation, family and friends will encourage you to seek treatment. This is often a pivotal step for those resistant to getting help.
-
Sober Living
Sober living homes provide a supportive and substance free environment for you to live in as you overcome your addiction. Residents must follow house rules and support each other's recovery journeys. Sober living fosters accountability and stability during this critical phase of recovery.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
