About Bowling Green Brandywine Treatment Center
Located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, Bowling Green Brandywine offers a full continuum of care for substance use disorders from detox right through to partial hospitalization programs. They are known for treating adults and are experienced in treating clients with a dual diagnosis, that is, living with a mental health condition like depression or anxiety alongside chemical dependency.
All treatment programs are personalized to each client’s needs to create a strong foundation for lasting sobriety. While they accept all ages, the average age of a client is 36, and about a quarter of their residents are under 25. You’ll also have a roommate, as they don’t offer private rooms.
For many clients, the first step to recovery with Bowling Green Brandywine is the medically monitored detox. To break chemical dependency, clients receive proven medications that help manage withdrawal symptoms and prevent cravings, in a safe and controlled manner. When clients are feeling better, they’ll start their therapy journey in detox with individual therapy sessions and a consultation with a psychiatrist for additional mental health symptoms.
Clients are encouraged to attend group therapy sessions during their stay in detox to give their recovery journey a solid start. Group topics include impulse control, introduction to 12 Steps, recovering emotions, impulse control, cycles of behavior, anger management, communication skills, healthy living, overcoming depression, and handling guilt. There is also time for rest, relaxation, and recreational activities during a detox stay to round out the experience.
The typical length of stay in detox is five days, but the time may vary depending on a client’s specific needs. Once their stay in detox is complete, clients can transition seamlessly into the residential treatment program.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
