About Brandywine Counseling and Community Services — Lancaster Ave Treatment Center
Brandywine Counseling and Community Services — Lancaster Ave Treatment Center is based in Wilmington, Delaware. They have office-based, outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment programs which focus on substance use and co-occurring disorders. They specialize in treating opioid addiction and have several programs that combine medication assisted treatment (MAT) and addiction counseling to help you stabilize and heal. In most cases, they’re able to give you same-day medication and support. They accept and will prioritize pregnant patients.
MAT uses prescription medication to help you manage cravings and reduce withdrawal symptoms. When combined with evidence-based addiction counseling methods, it’s an incredibly effective treatment for substance use disorder and makes the healing process as comfortable as possible.
Their office-based opioid treatment program offers the least intensive level of care. In this program, you’ll collect your medication from the clinic and receive careful instructions on the correct dosage and frequency required. You can then administer the medication as prescribed from the comfort of your own home. You’ll participate in counseling sessions a few times a week or month, depending on your needs and progress.
Their opioid treatment program is structured like a typical outpatient program, but it is designed specifically for adults who have experienced opioid addiction for a year or longer. They’ll prescribe methadone or Suboxone medication, and you’ll attend behavioral therapies and counseling sessions several times a week.
Their intensive outpatient program (IOP) is available to anyone in the office based or outpatient programs. This service includes more contact hours each week, giving you an extra layer of support to guard against relapse.
Although this center primarily treats adults over the age of 18, they do have a substance abuse counseling program for adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17. This program, called RISE, does not offer detox or MAT services.
Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Intervention
An intervention is a structured and professionally guided conversation with an individual who is struggling with addiction. During the conversation, family and friends will encourage you to seek treatment. This is often a pivotal step for those resistant to getting help.
