About The Camp Recovery Center
The Camp Recovery Center is a drug and alcohol rehab and detox center in Scotts Valley, California. They’re most known for their residential rehab which focuses on outdoor therapy and adventure therapy but they have a medical detox center here too.
The most unique thing that stands out to me about this detox center is that they can treat not only adults but adolescents too. Detox centers aren’t as common for teens as they are for adults even though it’s an important part of recovery no matter how old you are.
The medical detox here gives you a place to safely allow your body to get rid of alcohol and drugs in your system and start overcoming its chemical dependency. Withdrawal is your body learning how to adjust to not having drugs and alcohol in its system and the team at this detox center can make the process smoother for you.
The medical staff here will monitor your health and your symptoms throughout your detox. They’ll make sure you’re safe and will monitor for any signs of complications which they can then address quickly. Along the way, they can also ease your discomfort with medications.
I should note that the detox center here isn’t typically used as a standalone service. It’s mostly for people who plan to then transition into this rehab’s residential treatment program. If you do plan to use this rehab for your intensive addiction treatment though, their detox center is well equipped to help you start that journey the right way.
The feedback for this detox and treatment center is polarized although it’s mostly about the residential program rather than the detox specifically. Some clients say there aren’t enough staff who are properly trained in addiction treatment and that this makes the rehab less productive than it could be.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
