About Cedar Crest Hospital and Residential Treatment Center
Cedar Crest Hospital & Residential Treatment Center is a mental health and addiction facility on 33 acres that works with children, teens, adults, seniors, and military members. Their center is located in Belton, Texas, and accepts many insurance carriers including BCBS, Aetna, Humana, Cigna, Medicare and Medicaid.
Cedar Crest is primarily a mental health facility that accepts clients with co-occurring chemical dependency. They offer detox, residential and outpatient levels of care.
The first step begins with a medical and psychiatric evaluation. They will use these exams to figure out the severity of your addiction and any mental health disorders. They use the results to create a care plan for you.
The early days of your residential treatment is known as detox. You may be given medication to control many of the unpleasant withdrawal symptoms that are common when quitting substances. You’ll be carefully monitored and regularly evaluated to ensure you are comfortable and healthy as you progress in your recovery.
Every client’s need is unique. You may be slowly tapered off the medication as you move forward in your treatment. Or, depending on co-occurring mental health disorders, you may need long-term medication management. Experiential treatments may include yoga, art and music therapy, and recreational therapy. During your treatment, you’ll take part in individual and group therapy and possibly family therapy as well. You’ll work with your counselor to create an aftercare plan for your next steps once you leave treatment.
Cedar Crest has various on-site amenities including a full-size basketball gymnasium, outdoor swimming pool, activities room and a spacious dining hall. You can partake in outdoor activities, play sports, garden, and even work with horses. There’s plenty of time for personal reflection or you can socialize in their activity room. Their goal is to give you many avenues to recovery, and you’ll always have plenty of opportunities to find the path that works best.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
