About Cenikor Waco
Cenikor is an addiction treatment center with a facility in Waco, Texas. The organization has been around for over 50 years and is CARF-accredited and LegitScript certified. They have also received the gold level status from Goldstar. Here, they offer a full continuum of integrated care including detox, residential and outpatient treatment
Detox and residential treatment is available to adults 18 years of age and older. Insurance is accepted. As a nonprofit, they may be able to help you pay deductibles and copays. If you don’t have insurance, they can offer you a payment plan.
What stands out about the facility is that many of their team members are in recovery themselves. You are going to be in an environment that is safe and structured, and the facility has 55 beds.
If you’re showing signs of acute withdrawal symptoms or are at risk, upon admission, then you will start treatment in the detox unit. They typically have same-day admissions. I like that you will have medical care around the clock that is supervised by a licensed medical director.
Once detox is complete, you’ll transfer to the residential program. You’ll begin 12 Step groups and learn life skills that are valuable. With group therapy, you’ll be able to build relationships with your peers. During your time in individual therapy, you’ll have a customized plan tailored with your therapist.
When you complete your residential treatment program, you will have the option to continue treatment in their outpatient partial hospitalization program (PHP). You’ll attend process groups, counseling, and receive education before returning home at night. You attend treatment five days per week for six hours per day.
What stood out to me about the facility is their aftercare program, as it is offered as a complimentary program for two years. You will have periodic check-ins and one-on-one time with recovery coaches.
They also want to nip addictions in the bud. Their network’s prevention programs are centered on youths and can be given to kids of all ages. This community outreach can include games and events, resiliency programs for young adults who want to change their lifestyles, and can take place at school sites. If you’re a veteran, they’ll also work with the VA to make sure you and your loved ones are covered as you overcome any trauma that can fuel an addiction.

This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.

Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
