About BHG Pawtucket Treatment Center
The Pawtucket Treatment Center of the Behavioral Health Group network provides opioid addiction treatment in suburban Pawtucket, Rhode Island. They’re pretty close to the Seekonk River and McCoy Stadium. Adults are able to receive outpatient treatment for substance abuse.
Insurance is accepted, including Medicaid and Medicare. If you don’t have insurance, they have self pay payment options. Grant spots may be available if you qualify. The organization is accredited by CARF and The Joint Commission. They’re also members of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
What stood out to me is that they’re open seven days a week, with dispensing hours. If you can’t make it on weekdays, you can drop in on Saturday or Sunday. I do like that they offer flexibility so that you are still able to attend work, school and any other obligations.
They have local doctors, nurses, counselors and support staff to help you with your recovery. The counselors are also able to help diagnose you and treat you for co-occurring disorders.
Your treatment plan will be personalized. It will be based on your specific needs. For their addiction counseling, they use cognitive behavioral therapy. You’ll be able to attend individual, group and/or family therapy. You’ll learn how to manage stress and triggers without using drugs. By being able to identify your triggers that could lead to relapsing, you’ll be able to avoid them. The counselors will also teach you coping skills in case you’re unable to avoid triggers. If your condition is acute, they may refer you to the Spaulding Outpatient Center of Kent Hospital, which is just a couple of blocks away.
Along with therapy, you are able to receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). They use methadone an Suboxone to help you manage your cravings and ease your withdrawal symptoms. You’ll be able to have sessions with your counselor in person or virtually. I like that medical screenings and assessments are included with MAT. You’ll also be able to earn take home privileges, with your medication dosing, once you are stabilized.
