About Central Wyoming Counseling Center
Since 1959, Central Wyoming Counseling Center (CWCC) has been located at Wilkins Circle, just west of the North Platte River in Casper within Natrona County, Wyoming. CWCC serves adults, adolescents and children alongside their families in substance abuse recovery. They accept same-day appointments and walk-ins. Their program ranges from crisis support like inpatient detox to residential and intensive outpatient (IOP) care including medication assisted treatment (MAT).
They deliver tailored support for pregnant and parenting mothers in recovery and individuals dealing with co-occurring mental health conditions. They also offer practical and nonjudgmental substance use treatment for folks in the Natrona County Detention Center. They accept Medicaid and Medicare and offer a sliding fee scale for the uninsured.
Crisis Support & Inpatient Detoxification
CWCC offers crisis support for individuals experiencing intense psychiatric or substance use crises like severe withdrawal symptoms. The goal is to provide immediate crisis relief, restore normal functioning and stability and prevent costly hospitalization. Crisis services include 24/7 crisis helplines for immediate assistance and mobile crisis response. They offer short-term inpatient detox for those experiencing acute withdrawal symptoms in non-hospital settings following assessment.
Clients are cared for by expert clinicians who monitor them 24/7. These experts may administer MAT to help the client manage painful withdrawal symptoms. Once you stabilize and are in good health, you’ll be connected to the appropriate level of care in the community. This may also involve transitioning to residential treatment or intensive outpatient programs (IOP) provided by CWCC.
Their IOP provides structured and intensive therapeutic support with flexible scheduling. It involves group and individual therapy that provide guidance, coping strategies and support for lasting recovery. Telehealth is included so you can attend sessions virtually in the comfort of your home. Clients with co-occurring conditions receive psychiatric care, including medication management as part of an integrated treatment.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
