About Charlotte Behavioral Healthcare
Charlotte Behavioral Healthcare is a comprehensive behavioral health and addiction recovery center in Punta Gorda, Florida. They’re actually most known for their outpatient services but they have a full continuum of care here and that continuum starts with detox.
Their inpatient detox treatment can help you start your recovery journey and clear your body of drugs and alcohol. Since this is an inpatient program they can monitor your health and keep you safe as you detox from substances like benzodiazepine and alcohol. They can also help you through lower risk detoxes like opioid withdrawal or meth withdrawal.
If you’re recovering from an addiction to opiates like fentanyl or heroin then they can also give you Suboxone during your detox. This can help you gradually lower your dependence on opioids and can lower your withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Keep in mind that this and all of their other treatments here are on a case by case basis depending on what’s most helpful and appropriate for each client.
The detox program here is for adults ages 18 and older although they do have other levels of care here for adults as well as adolescents and kids. Most clients are here for five to seven days but it depends on your specific needs. During your program you’ll also get started with 12 step groups and you’ll have yoga and meditation sessions too. When it comes to finances they accept most insurance plans.
I think what’s most helpful about this detox center is that if you’re happy with the organization then they have every level of care you need for your recovery so you can stage with them at each stage of the journey. For example they have residential rehab as well as outpatient care.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
