About Community Medical Services on Broadway
Community Medical Services (CMS) provides treatment for opioid addiction in Tucson, Arizona. The goal is to offer compassionate treatment so you can overcome substance abuse and reclaim your life through expert care. They offer free onsite parking and are conveniently located in a residential area on the east side of downtown Tucson. They’re also open on Saturdays.
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available to help relieve withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. They treat all opioid addictions, including fentanyl and heroin. MAT can be used while you live a healthy lifestyle and continue with typical duties, including working and attending school.
If you’re pregnant and in need of opioid addiction treatment, CMS has a customized plan for you. They use methadone or buprenorphine while coordinating care with your OBGYN and other medical providers so you get high-quality care that keeps you and your baby safe. You’ll be empowered as a leader in your recovery. MAT is not harmful to the baby, and you’re encouraged to continue the medication throughout pregnancy to help treat your addiction.
They have peer support specialists to help you get the most benefits from the program and provide a unique perspective from someone who has been in your shoes. They have navigated recovery and can understand your experiences with opioid addiction. These specialists can connect you with support groups and community resources for ongoing sober networking. They partner with local emergency medical teams and provide community outreach and education.
CMS believes everyone should have access to healthcare and assists incarcerated persons who struggle with substance use. They offer peer support, medication delivery, telehealth services, and screening for opioid use disorder. Offsite, you can also unwind and relax in nearby recreation sites like Palo Verde Park.
Guest dosing is available for those who cannot get to their regular clinic to receive medication. If you’re enrolled in another opioid treatment program and request medication ahead of time, CMS will provide courtesy dosing and emergent dosing on a case-by-case need.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
