About Community Substance Abuse Centers Merrimack River Medical Services Inc
Health Care Resource Centers (HCRC), located in Portland, Maine is an outpatient clinic that specializes in the treatment of opioid addiction in adults. They offer clinical detox, medication assisted treatment and outpatient counseling without medication.
This MAT program uses methadone or buprenorphine to reduce withdrawal and cravings to give patients a real chance at sobriety. In conjunction with medication, counseling and behavioral therapies are part of the treatment plan. MAT addresses both the physical addiction and the underlying mental and emotional health causes of substance use. Patients will learn coping strategies, learn about relapse prevention and begin to build their support systems.
Though MAT is safe and effective, some people may prefer social detox and substance recovery without medication. If so, HCRC can help. Their outpatient counseling is offered by trained, certified professionals. Clients may participate in individual, group and family counseling to address the root causes of drug use.
HCRC accepts Aetna commercial plan, Aetna Medicare Advantage plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna Behavioral Health, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Medicare Part B, Optum (United Healthcare), Tricare, United Healthcare Medicare Advantage, MaineCare Insurance and community health options. They also accept self-pay by the patient. Contact your provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary.
