About Conewago Pottsville
Conewago Pottsville is a member of the Firetree Group in a commercial center in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. They’re a drug and alcohol residential treatment center for men and women who are 18 years of age and older. The organization is CARF-accredited and LegitScript certified. They are also licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol.
If you are uninsured, you will have the option for self pay. If you qualify, you may be eligible for county funding.
Their facility has a capacity of 34 beds. The rooms are shared. I do like that transportation is available. What stood out to me is that they have a blackout period for three days. During this time, you will not be allowed telephone calls or visits from your loved ones.
Once you are admitted into their program, you will undergo a life skills assessment. This is an assessment to help the staff determine your areas of need and to develop your treatment plan. Your assessment will help place you in the correct life skills group. They have life skills groups on a daily basis.
Life skills can also mean getting into shape and exercising regularly. If you have downtime and excursions are possible, you can unwind in the Bunker Hill Playground or Greenwood Hill Park. Exploring the Schuylkill River might also be doable.
Aside from your life skills group, you’ll attend weekly individual therapy sessions. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available when needed. MAT uses FDA approved medication to help alleviate your withdrawal symptoms and lessen your substance cravings. By combining MAT with behavioral and cognitive therapies, you’ll be able to focus on your treatment for long term sobriety.
A few other things did stand out to me. They will help you become first aid and CPR certified. You will also be able to receive help building your resume and job searching. With nutrition training, you’ll be able to feed your body the healthy foods it needs to feel good, thereby reducing the risk of relapsing. Music and art therapy will also be available to help you express your feelings and emotions.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.

Young adult programs are designed for individuals who are transitioning into adulthood. Topics of discussion typically include identity, independence and peer relationships. Providers may also offer life skills training and career support.
