About Core Health Services
Located in South Amboy, New Jersey, Core Health Services was an alcohol and drug rehab center for adults. They’re permanently closed now but they specialized in medical detox, residential treatment and aftercare support, including specialized services for clients with co-occurring conditions.
Their medical detox program helped clients withdraw from opioids, alcohol and other drugs in a safe, medically supervised environment. A team of multi-disciplinary providers assessed each client to understand their condition and create an individualized treatment plan. If a plan included medication assisted treatment, providers could administer FDA-approved addiction medications, including buprenorphine and naltrexone, to improve client comfort, curb cravings and minimize relapse risk during detoxification.
Their residential services occurred in a full-service facility located near the Raritan Bay Waterfront Park. While in the program, clients could participate in an array of therapies designed to help them address the biological and psychological aspects of recovery. These may have included individual and group counseling, 12 Step programming, addiction education and complementary, evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, rational emotive behavior therapy and treatments based on The Matrix Model.
Following treatment, providers could connect clients with community-based resources to continue their recovery. These services may have included vocational training, transitional housing, peer support groups and similar programs.
Core Health Services might have been in-network with most major insurance providers, including Humana, Cigna, United Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield, TRICARE and others.
