About Stepping Stones Rehabilitation Services
Stepping Stones is a 24/7 co-ed program that offers social detox, medically monitored intensive care, and outpatient support. They’re one of three recovery programs of Dakota Counseling Institute for residents of south-central South Dakota. For over 35 years, they’ve promoted community wellbeing through education and prevention services. Stepping Stones is located southwest of Hitchcock Park and south of Cadwell Sports Complex.
One thing that stands out about this place is that you can keep working while living and getting treatment right onsite. You’ll navigate recovery while focusing on personal growth and rebuilding healthier relationships. You can fund your recovery via Medicaid and Medicare. Discounted fees are available for eligible clients.
Support at every Stage of Recovery
Stepping Stone’s variety of treatment options means you can heal regardless of where you’re in your recovery journey. You’ll first undergo an assessment to determine an appropriate level of care and tailor a plan that works. You might begin with social detox and move into outpatient care or go directly into intensive inpatient treatment if your situation calls for it.
Social detox is a short-term, non-medical process that helps you safely manage withdrawal symptoms. They’ll support your mental and emotional wellbeing to ensure a safe withdrawal process.
You may transition to outpatient care once that part is concluded. Both general and structured intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are available. These programs blend individual and group formats to cover topics like anger management, relapse prevention, and strength building. Additional offerings include parenting classes, readiness groups for federal probationers, and moral reconation treatment.
Their services also include DUI education for first-time offenders alongside aftercare support for long-term recovery. You’ll be supported by a bunch of caring folks working as a team to help you through every step.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Sober Living
Sober living homes provide a supportive and substance free environment for you to live in as you overcome your addiction. Residents must follow house rules and support each other's recovery journeys. Sober living fosters accountability and stability during this critical phase of recovery.
