Ambulatory detox, also known as day treatment, allows clients to participate in treatment during the day while still living at home. This type of detox is ideal for those who have a safe and supportive home environment and prefer to sleep in their own beds.

The length of stay will vary for each client but is intended to be for a short duration. Clients will attend treatment activities at least 5 days a week as they withdraw from drugs or alcohol. Discovery Counseling will coordinate with clients’ primary care physician or psychiatrist to ensure optimal care. When necessary, this facility will refer patients to a higher level of care such as residential treatment.

Discovery Counseling offers many holistic services as part of treatment. Auricular acupuncture uses fine needles to stimulate points on the ear. It is a complementary therapy for detoxification as it removes toxins from the body and promotes relaxation.

Neuromeditation is a form of guided meditation that targets certain types of brain activity found with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD. Other modalities offered include yoga therapy, mindfulness, reiki, essential oil therapy, somatic therapy, bioenergetics, and tension and trauma releasing exercises.

Discovery Counseling accepts self pay and insurance plans. Contact your insurance provider to verify coverage because out of network benefits can vary.
