About Discovery House of South Portland Comprehensive Treatment Centers
The South Portland Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), previously called Discovery House, provides outpatient medical detox and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults in South Portland, Maine. After detox, clients may transition into outpatient treatment at the CTC or be referred to a drug rehab that meets their needs.
Clients in outpatient medical detox do not live at the center but instead live at home or in sober living and visit the center daily for medication and assessment. Medications used at the South Portland CTC include methadone and Suboxone. Clients also receive individual counseling and treatment planning.
Many clients who qualify for outpatient detox at the South Portland CTC will transition into the outpatient treatment program there. However, for those who need more focused and intensive rehab services, residential treatment may be recommended. Outpatient care includes individual and group therapy as well as MAT, which allows clients to continue using FDA-approved medication for a longer time while they receive treatment and build a substance-free lifestyle.
The South Portland Comprehensive Treatment Center accepts multiple insurance plans, which include Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare, and may include private insurance plans such as Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Amerigroup, Ambetter, United Healthcare, and more. Insurance plans vary, so be sure to verify coverage information and out of network benefits with the insurer.
