About Woonsocket Comprehensive Treatment Center
The Woonsocket Comprehensive Treatment Center provides adults who are 18 years of age and older with outpatient treatment in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Treatment is provided for adults of all genders who are struggling with an opioid use disorder. They are conveniently located near fast food restaurants and sit down restaurants. The Gainsborough Commons are outside of town if you need to unwind and exercise.
Commercial insurance, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted. The option to self pay for your treatment service is available if you are uninsured.
You’ll complete a thorough assessment before commencing treatment. A major requirement of theirs is that you must be substance free and in a 24-48 hours withdrawal state. The assessment will ask specific questions in regards to your substance use history, medical history, family history and your treatment goals. This helps the staff identify your specific needs so that a personalized treatment plan can be developed.
As their medication assisted treatment (MAT) facility, they will provide you with the medication methadone, if deemed appropriate. This medication has been approved by the FDA to reduce your cravings and ease the physical symptoms of withdrawal. It has also been included in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) list of essential medicines.
Along with MAT, you’ll be attending counseling services. In individual counseling, you’ll reflect on how addiction has impacted your life. You’ll also learn to make changes that are healthy to support your recovery. In group counseling, you’ll develop relapse prevention strategies and practice health communication skills.
If you are a pregnant woman, you will not be denied services. You can’t be in a withdrawal state when you arrive for your intake appointment. You’ll need to take a pregnancy test and have a letter from your OBGYN approving treatment services. I do like that they will help coordinate your care with the OBGYN and help you make arrangements if you don’t have an OBGYN.
