About DOT Caring Center Inc
In Freeland, Michigan, right alongside the Titttabawassee River, is the DOT Caring Center. The Freeland location is one of two centers that provide outpatient and residential treatment services to men and women who are ready to start recovery from their alcohol or substance use struggles.
Along with policies from most major insurance providers, they also accept Medicaid and Medicare. You won’t be denied services because of an inability to pay and various payment arrangements can be made with the billing office. You’ll generally start receiving care 48 hours after you first contact them.
The origins of this recovery facility are interesting, as it was established to meet the needs of individuals who were referred here for breaking drinking and driving laws in the state. Over the decades they’ve been in operation, DOT Caring Center has grown to provide educational and recovery services to help those who have lost driving privileges due to substance use get back on the right path.
Today, you’ll find they offer compassionate residential care to help you maintain your sobriety. Many people will start with their subacute alcohol and drug detoxification. Once your body is stabilized, you’ll move into their low or high intensity recovery programs.
These programs are thoughtfully structured to allow you to experience a blend of evidence based practices and holistic recovery approaches.
They follow a traditional 12 Step recovery model here, but treatments are individualized so you have the right services to meet your needs. You’ll learn about effective meditation techniques that’ll help you focus on recovery in a manner that engages your mind, body, and soul.
Their structured approach will also encourage you to engage in productive habits so you can feel and experience daily sober living. When challenges do arise such as cravings or triggers, you’ll have the strategies to face these hiccups in recovery so that you can continue with your sobriety.

Levels of Care

Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.

Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.

MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.

Adult (18+)
Adult programs address the substance use and life challenges specific to adults. Therapists can deliver sessions in individual, group and family settings. Services often include job support and life skills training in a structured environment.

Senior programs address the unique needs of older adults like chronic pain, grief and isolation. Programs include peer support and medical oversight for age related health concerns. The goal is to improve quality of life and promote sober aging.
