Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County provides a standalone residential detox center for people who need acute substance detox in sunny Delray Beach, Florida. In order to minimize the immediate harm caused by withdrawal symptoms and to facilitate additional clinical assessments for treatment placement, their main objective is to ensure medical stabilization.
Before moving on to final treatment, individuals who need medical supervision can stay in their acute care unit for five to 30 days. This unit is designed for people with urgent medical or mental health needs who might not require detox services.
Medication use for people with alcohol or opioid use disorders is standardized by their groundbreaking COR 12 evidence-based treatment component. This guarantees that anyone with these conditions will automatically benefit from medication as part of their treatment regimen. For efficient administration and management of medication protocols, their med/psych unit works closely with the care coordination unit.
Their Level 2 residential units are divided by gender. Each one is lined with palm trees and allows plenty of open sun to convey a resort-like appearance. Depending on the needs of each patient this intensive treatment approach can be administered in either an unstructured or structured setting. There are wide open spaces lined with comfortable, modern furniture. You can feel free to drop by the kitchenette for snacks and beverages.
Through practical coping skills the program helps participants deal with setbacks and disagreements that may lead to relapse. It also deals with underlying problems like trauma, deficiencies in recovery capital and physical and mental health. Peer support and shared common experiences create a network for recovery.

Inpatient
