About Dunamis Wellness Chico
This center was founded with the aim of assisting families and individuals in achieving recovery and personal growth. Dunamis Wellness in Chico, California, provided outpatient mental health and addiction treatment services to adults and youth. They had individual counseling and group therapy along with novel treatments like TMS and neurofeedback. Dunamis Wellness closed at the end of 2023.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an inventive solution that activates specific nerve cells in the brain which helps treat depression when other options haven’t helped. With neurofeedback, clients are able to train their brains to function in their optimal manner, enhancing emotional stability and cognitive functioning.
Another unique element of Dunamis Wellness was their wide range of group options for therapy. For teens they had an art and wellness group, a self esteem group for girls, and a social skills hangout for teens with disabilities. They also had group therapy for mind body connection, managing chronic pain, moving forward from a painful past and groups for those with autism and their families.
Outpatient treatment for addiction included an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and general outpatient care. The IOP provided three sessions per week of three hours each and lasted 12 weeks. Afterward you attend a 12 week aftercare program which includes general outpatient treatment for 1.5 hours per week.
In addition to addiction treatment Dunamis could help with mental health concerns and life skills including parenting concerns, work and career issues, conflict resolution, grief counseling and stress management. They were able to serve adolescents, adults and seniors with a variety of issues.

Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
