About Dunmore Comprehensive Treatment Center
Denmore Comprehensive Treatment Center provides outpatient treatment in Beloit, Wisconsin. Adults 18 years of age and older of all genders can receive treatment for opioid use disorder. They’re near the road that leads up to Eales Preserve if you need to unwind for a bit.
The organization accepts commercial insurance, TRICARE, Medicaid and Medicare. If you don’t have insurance, you will have the option to self pay for your treatment. The organization is also state and publicly funded.
Before you arrive at the center to begin your treatment, you must be substance free and in a withdrawal state for 24-48 hours. You will then complete a thorough assessment that will help identify your specific needs, so that a personalized treatment plan can be developed. You’ll go over your substance use history, medical history, family history and your treatment goals. This ensures that all your treatment needs will be met for a successful long term recovery.
Along with medication assisted treatment (MAT), you’ll be attending counseling services. They don’t offer MAT as a stand alone service. During your time in individual counseling, you’ll reflect on how addiction has impacted your life. You’ll also learn to make changes that are healthy to support your recovery. In group counseling, you’ll develop relapse prevention strategies and practice health communication skills. You’ll see that you are not alone on this journey, as you connect and learn from your peers’ experiences.
When you arrive for your intake appointment, keep in mind that it’ll take between two and four hours. One of the center’s physicians will conduct a complete physical exam. The exam will also include drug testing and tuberculosis testing. If you have proof that you have had a tuberculosis test in the last two years, then you can wave the test.
Following your assessment, you’re going to meet with a member of their medical staff team. They’ll help determine whether methadone or a different medication should be included with your treatment plan. The four FDA-approved medications they choose from are methadone, Suboxone, naltrexone and buprenorphine. The purpose of these medications is to help ease your withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings so that you may be able to focus on your recovery journey.
All women will need to take a pregnancy test. If you’re pregnant, you must not be in a state of withdrawal when you arrive for your intake appointment. You’ll need a letter from your OBGYN stating that they have approved you to receive treatment. They will be able to coordinate your care with your OBGYN as long as you sign the release of information form. I like that they will help you make arrangements if you don’t have an OBGYN.
