About El Cajon Comprehensive Treatment Center
El Cajon Comprehensive Treatment Center provides outpatient opioid use disorder treatment in El Cajon, California. It’s close to the El Cajon Public Library and the city park isn’t too far away. Adults 18 years and older of all genders are able to receive treatment for opioid use disorder. The center is licensed and certified by the State Department of Health Care Services.
Insurance is accepted including TRICARE, Medicare and Medi-Cal. If anyone is uninsured they do have a self pay option. The organization is also state and publicly funded. If you need additional services or assistance with getting treatment, the County of San Diego Health & Human Services Agency is a block away and may be of service.
During your intake, you will undergo an assessment. At that time, their staff will ask questions in regards to your current concerns, substance use history and medical history. All this information will help their staff create a treatment plan that is personalized to your needs. This ensures that all your treatment needs will be met for a successful long term recovery.
Your intake appointment will take between two and four hours. One of the center’s physicians will conduct a routine physical exam and drug screening. The exam will help them and you get a picture of your physical health.
Before you begin treatment, you must be substance free and in a withdrawal state for 24-48 hours. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) will be integrated with counseling services. The four FDA approved medications they prescribed are methadone, Suboxone, naltrexone and buprenorphine. The purpose of these medications is to help ease your withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings so that you may be able to focus on your recovery journey.
In individual counseling, you’ll reflect on how addiction has impacted your life. You’ll also learn to make changes that are healthy to support your recovery. In group counseling, you’ll develop relapse prevention strategies and practice health communication skills. You’ll also see that you are not alone on this journey, as you connect and learn from your peers’ experiences.

In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
