About Fairfax Detox Center
Fairfax Detox Center is a drug and alcohol detox center on Walney Road in Chantilly, Virginia. They offer detox for adults through the short-term residential program. The program is designed to help you safely withdraw from alcohol or drugs.
The program includes medical management of withdrawal symptoms including medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine. While in the program, you’ll have a case manager who can help you manage the different facets of your recovery. You’ll have assessments to ensure you’re getting the right treatment based on the substances you’ve been using. Part of the program includes an introduction to the 12-step recovery process. Some common 12-step programs are Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
Detox is the first step in any successful alcohol or drug recovery program. You’ll rid your body of toxins while working on your health and wellness. You’ll have access to daily Acudetox which is a type of acupuncture. This includes thin acupuncture needles inserted into five specific spots in your ear. Acudetox has been shown to reduce alcohol and drug cravings while reducing anxiety, insomnia, and agitation. It also reduces withdrawal symptoms.
The program includes education on universal precautions and HIV/HCV/TB testing and education. It’s not uncommon for people with substance use disorder to be exposed to life-threatening communicable diseases like TB and HIV. The length of your stay in the program is determined by your ability to stabilize and the severity of your condition.
