About Community Hospital North Behavioral Health Pavilion
Community Hospital North Behavioral Health Pavilion is an extensive behavioral health hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. They have a lot of different departments and programs but one of them is inpatient detox for drug and alcohol addiction.
During your inpatient detox the medical staff will be there to watch over your health and make sure you’re safe throughout your withdrawal. In some cases they also use medication assisted therapy to ease your withdrawal symptoms and your cravings. This could be an option if you are detoxing from alcohol or opioids.
What’s helpful about this detox center too is the fact that it’s also a mental health hospital. This makes them well equipped to help stabilize and treat any co-occurring mental health conditions you have in addition to your substance use disorder.
When your detox is done, they also have a partial hospitalization program (PHP). This is an extensive outpatient program where you live at home but come to the facility every weekday for treatment. This is usually the next step down after your inpatient detox and stabilization. You’ll have a range of group therapy and addiction education, and the treatment hours will vary based on what you need and where you are in your recovery.
I also think it’s unique that they have a specialized program for older adults too who are 65 and older called Seasons.
Some clients say that this treatment center was a helpful step in their recovery and that they got excellent care here. A lot of clients had the opposite experience, and say that the staff lacks compassion and that they didn’t feel that the environment was therapeutic. Keep in mind, though, that this hospital has several different inpatient units, so it’s difficult to determine if the experiences at the detox unit align with those of mental health units and other areas.
