About Great Lakes Adult & Teen Challenge
The Great Lakes Adult Teen Challenge’s Center of Hope facility is a faith based residential recovery home for men in suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They’ve been around for over 60 years. You’ll find them in a suburban setting, close to the Valhalla Memorial Park and the Timmerman Airport.
Center for Hope is a therapeutic community with a year long program. You’ll spend time with other men who are working on being free from addiction. You’ll get non-medicated detox. This allows your body to get rid of substances naturally over weeks or months. During this process, you’ll be supported, encouraged and carefully monitored to make sure you’re safe.
Their treatment is based on the belief that addiction is often the result of unresolved trauma or pain, not having your needs met or not knowing what your purpose is. They focus on finding the root cause and resolving it, which allows you to move on and embrace a new way of living.
As part of your recovery, they identify and challenge unhelpful thought processes and negative motivations. This helps you begin to recognize them for yourself and choose different ways of thinking. Job training is an important part of recovery as this allows you to get satisfying employment that provides for yourself and your loved ones.
What stands out to me is that they don’t rush the recovery process. They use the tools of counseling and education to help you grow and become resilient. You’ll be mentored by someone who understands what you’re going through. Living in a Christian rehab, you’ll get spiritual guidance and the tools you need to build a happy, healthy future.
Levels of Care

Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting

Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
