About High Point Treatment Center
High Point Treatment Center is a nonprofit corporation accredited by The Joint Commission and located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The center offers inpatient substance use detox and rehabilitation programs at the Plymouth campus on State Road.
Detox is an important first step in your substance use treatment journey. You need to rid your body of the toxic substances you’ve been using to enhance the effectiveness of your treatment. The facility has inpatient detox services for adult men and women. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) if appropriate. Some of the medications they use include methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
The detox unit is directed by a licensed physician, and you’ll have around the clock nursing care. While in the detox process, you’ll be seen by a licensed counselor and case manager. You’ll begin group and individual counseling to work on any underlying co-occurring disorders contributing to your alcohol or drug use. Co-occurring disorders are mental health issues such as depression, bipolar disorder, or anxiety.
You’ll begin your aftercare planning, even while in the detox phase of the program. If you’re detoxing from opioids and on methadone maintenance, you can detox from other drugs while staying on the methadone regimen.
You’ll become acquainted with the 12 Step model of recovery and have access to daily 12 Step groups. The groups include Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Detox usually takes between 5-7 days but it may take longer depending on the types of substances and the length of time you’ve been using them.
After you’ve fully detoxed, you can then decide whether to stay in an inpatient rehab program or move to an outpatient program. They have multiple social and local resources, including services done in schools, homes, or community centers. That way, you’ll have an easier time reintegrating with your loved ones and getting back to your daily routines.

Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
