About McAlister Institute
Based in El Cajon, California, this is just one of a few McAlister Institute locations. This facility is the home of its detox services, which provides residential addiction treatment and withdrawal management services to teens and adults. Programs here accept Medi-Cal, and can help individuals who may be Medi-Cal eligible.
Adult Detox Services near El Cajon
One of this organization’s 24 programs is the adult detox program. It represents just one phase of its full spectrum addiction treatment services. Built from over 40 years of experience treating individuals struggling with substance abuse, care is tailored to meet participants’ unique needs and preferences.
The adult program is specifically located in Lemon Grove. It’s just a short drive from El Cajon. Participants can benefit from short-term residential, non-medical detox services. These are available to men and women. Participants can expect to go through this process for anywhere between 2-14 days while enjoying a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment.
Speaking of supportive environments, one non-medical therapy is actually offsite. Mission Trails Regional Park is within driving distance and can be a good fit if you want to stretch your legs and unwind a bit between sessions.
Anyway, back to the center. After going through an assessment process, clients can expect treatment planning, and community referrals. For those who may benefit, staff can connect individuals to medication assisted treatment (MAT) services. Participants will also engage in addiction education, and be introduced to 12 Step recovery principles.

This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Intervention
An intervention is a structured and professionally guided conversation with an individual who is struggling with addiction. During the conversation, family and friends will encourage you to seek treatment. This is often a pivotal step for those resistant to getting help.
