About McKinley Hall Inc
McKinley Hall Inc. is a private nonprofit corporation in Springfield, Ohio. Voluntary and court ordered adults can participate in a continuum of care from residential rehab to aftercare. You can access empathetic support and proven therapeutic interventions to promote long term addiction and co-occurring disorder recovery.
One great thing I noticed about their programs was their flexible payment options. Although they don’t require insurance, they do accept many private insurers and Medicaid. And, you can still get the care you need even if you’re uninsured. They work with the Greene, Clark and Madison County Mental Health and Recovery Boards to help with payment. You may still have a copay for certain services.
Whether you can live at home while attending treatment or need 24/7 support, their programs aim to meet you where you are in recovery. They offer walk-in assessments to determine the best level of care for you. You can participate in group and individual therapy as well as medication assisted treatment (MAT) to meet your recovery goals. Additionally, you can access case management services and treatment referrals if there’s a waitlist for their programs.
What stands out most to me is that all of their programs are gender specific. You can participate in men’s and women’s programs for any level of care. Each is tailored to the unique experiences of men and women and the influences that gender can have on addiction. You’ll benefit from a comfortable space to open up and connect with peers on similar walks.
Another amazing element I noticed was their intensive outpatient program (IOP) for people in the criminal justice system. You can access this track while in prison or after being released. You’ll participate in nine hours of weekly programming. They also transport you directly to their site on the day of your release. That way you can get started on your recovery journey as soon as possible.

Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
Detox Service Setting
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.

Adult (18+)
Adult programs address the substance use and life challenges specific to adults. Therapists can deliver sessions in individual, group and family settings. Services often include job support and life skills training in a structured environment.

Young adult programs are designed for individuals who are transitioning into adulthood. Topics of discussion typically include identity, independence and peer relationships. Providers may also offer life skills training and career support.
