About Medical City Mental Health and Wellness Center
Medical City Mental Health and Wellness Center is a behavioral health hospital that used to be called Haven Behavioral Hospital. It’s located in Frisco, Texas. They treat a wide range of conditions and needs here including drug and alcohol addiction with detox and other treatment stages.
For a lot of people with addiction the first step in recovery is detox. The type of detox you need will depend on factors like the substances you’re detoxing from and how advanced or severe your addiction is. If your detox has risks, they might offer you medically supervised detox. At this facility, that means you’ll have inpatient care around the clock to monitor your health during your detox and to manage your withdrawal symptoms.
As you get started with detox, you’ll also be able to begin your addiction treatment. This facility has multiple levels of care for after your detox. That includes a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults where you live at home or in sober living housing and you come to the facility for treatment for several hours every weekday. They also have the next step down which is an intensive outpatient program, or IOP. They offer IOP for adults or adolescents.
I think it’s valuable that this facility isn’t just an addiction treatment center, but a mental health center, too. This lets them stabilize and treat any mental health conditions you may have on top of your addiction.
Unfortunately, the client reviews for this treatment center aren’t very encouraging. A lot of clients and their family members say that the staff treats them poorly, and that their medications aren’t managed well. Clients have complaints about the quality of care here as well as the communication from the facility.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
