About Narcotic Drug Treatment Center NDTC

The Narcotic Drug Treatment Center is a nonprofit organization that, for over 50 years, has provided outpatient opioid treatment services in Anchorage, Alaska. The organization is CARF-accredited. Their goal is to help individuals overcome the psychological and physical dependency of an opioid use disorder.

They provide adults with a methadone maintenance program. To make sure you meet their criteria, you will be thoroughly screened before being admitted into the program. Methadone is an FDA-approved medication that’s helpful in controlling your craving for opioids. With your cravings controlled, you will be able to learn to live your life without the consumption of drugs. If you’re a pregnant woman, you’ll be able to partake in the program as well.

If you’re a new patient, you’ll be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. In their enrollment process, they prioritize patients. They are prioritized as follows: pregnant women, hospital transfers, transfers from another outpatient treatment program (OP) and transfers from correctional facilities.

During your admissions process, you will be required to complete a medical assessment and enrollment assessment at intake. You will also need to provide a urine sample. Your urine sample must be positive for opioids but negative for benzodiazepines. It is required that you provide urine drug screens throughout your treatment and participate in substance use disorder counseling at the clinic.

You’ll also need to follow their requirements. For instance, you’ll be required to go to the clinic on a daily basis for your medication administration.

Their staff consists of medical doctors, nurses, directing clinicians and support staff. During your time in individual counseling, you’ll be able to dive deep and get to the root of your opioid use disorder. With group therapy, you will be able to have peer support and not feel alone in your recovery journey.
