About Natchaug Hospital- Rivereast Treatment Center
Each client’s treatment plan is centered on group therapy which allows for sharing of experiences while gaining support and validation.
When people need intensive, comprehensive treatment for psychiatric and chemical dependency issues but do not need inpatient or residential hospital care, Natchaug offers intensive, structured clinical treatment in programs that may include up to six hours of treatment a day, five days a week.
These intensive treatment programs can help prevent the need for hospitalization. They can also help people make the transition to home after inpatient or residential treatment. Natchaug brings this clinical care closer to people’s homes by offering programs throughout Eastern Connecticut.
Medication-assisted treatment uses both Suboxone® and therapy to help people into recovery from opioid dependency. Suboxone® helps reduce addictive cravings and allows patients to remain more functional and involved in their families, jobs and communities throughout recovery.
Other benefits of Suboxone® include:
Lower risk of abuse and dependency
Fewer side effects
Long duration of action, resulting in infrequent dosing (usually once per day)
“Ceiling effect” which blocks the ability to get high, reducing the likelihood of opioid use
Suboxone® is FDA-approved and carefully monitored according to evidence-based treatments that have been shown to give patients the best chance at success.
