About The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard
Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard provides evidence based behavioral health services for adults. The detox unit at this facility allows clients to be medically monitored during withdrawal from substances such as opioids, alcohol and other drugs. Patients are medically monitored to be kept safe and as comfortable as possible. Medications may be used during treatment to ease withdrawal symptoms.
Following detox, patients may begin MAT. This treatment combines medication and psychological care to give clients a whole person approach to healing. FDA-approved medications such as methadone, Suboxone and Vivitrol may be used to prevent the effects of drugs and reduce psychological cravings. Clients will participate in a variety of counseling including individual, group, and family therapy. Peer support groups are also a part of treatment.
