Detox is an important step in ridding your body of the harmful substances you’ve been taking. If you’ve been using alcohol or drugs for a long time then your body adjusts to the substances. It can be difficult and even dangerous to just stop using. Your body needs to readjust to life without those substances, and that process is withdrawal.
Withdrawal can cause uncomfortable symptoms which is why many people choose not to try rehab. But, once you’re through detox, then you can start working on your addictions. The center has a comprehensive detox program for adults 18 and up. Your stay in detox is usually a few days but can be a week or longer depending on your situation. While you’re detoxing, you’ll be staying at the center.
You’ll be under the care of the detox treatment team around the clock. A doctor will check on you every day to track your progress. The doctor can prescribe medication to ease your withdrawal symptoms if necessary. If you need medication management for other conditions while detoxing, the treatment team will take care of that.
During detox, you’ll have the option to participate in therapeutic activities. Groups include process groups, education groups, and group psychotherapy. During group therapy, you’ll learn valuable skills for supporting your long term sobriety. There are also opportunities for recreation therapy and working out at the gym. It’s important to involve your body and mind in the addiction recovery process.
Once you’re through the detox process you can then decide on your next steps. You may want to continue to an inpatient treatment program or find an outpatient program that works for you.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
