About Pacific Grove Hospital

Pacific Grove Hospital offers adult men and women mental health and addiction treatment in central Riverside, California. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and receives federal financial assistance. They accept most major insurance plans that include Medicare, TRICARE, and TriWest.

The facility itself is on 4.5 acres and is an acute psychiatric and chemical dependency hospital with 68 beds. You’ll have a semi private room and have access to their laundry facilities, patient lounges and private courtyards.

To determine if the hospital is the right place for you, your admissions process will begin with a detailed assessment. The assessment will go over your substance use history, medical history, your needs and strengths. With this information, their staff will be able to develop your customized treatment plan. Your treatment plan may include therapy, medical care and detox.

With their chemical dependency program, you will undergo medical detox. You’ll be in a safe environment receiving round the clock care. The medications you will receive are FDA approved. The medicine will help ease any withdrawal symptoms and reduce your cravings. Once your symptoms are under control, you’ll be able to focus on your recovery journey.

Once you have completed the detox program, you will receive your detailed discharge plan. It will include your aftercare plan outlining resources and your next steps to encourage your continued success. You may be advised to continue treatment in an outpatient environment to take advantage of Riverside’s sunny, mild climate and many local parks to get you fit physically and mentally.

Their partial hospitalization program (PHP) is two to four weeks in length. You attend your therapy sessions five days per week for six hours a day. With their intensive outpatient program (IOP) you attend three days per week for four hours a day. This program is also two to four weeks in length. Before completing the programs, you will always be evaluated to determine if you are ready for your next treatment phase.

Levels of Care

  • Inpatient

Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.

  • Outpatient

In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.

  • PHP

Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.

Detox Service Setting

  • Hospital Detox

Hospital detoxification allows you to withdraw from drugs or alcohol in a hospital setting. It’s ideal for people with severe withdrawal symptoms or complex medical needs. You’ll receive constant monitoring, emergency care if needed and FDA approved prescription medications.

  • Inpatient Detox

Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.

  • MAT

Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.

Programs

  • Military / Veterans

Military and veteran programs offer specialized support for clients who served in the armed services. Programs focus on reintegration and healing within a structured and supportive environment that acknowledges the unique struggles of military life.

  • Adult (18+)

Adult programs address the substance use and life challenges specific to adults. Therapists can deliver sessions in individual, group and family settings. Services often include job support and life skills training in a structured environment.
