About Phoenix Center Drug Abuse Foundation – Closed
Centre Closed April 2025
Located in Delray Beach, Florida was the Phoenix Center Drug Abuse Foundation. This was an organization that supported adults and pregnant and postpartum women who were struggling with addiction. Among the services available here were intervention, crisis support, medication assisted treatment, and psychiatric services. Care was available in both a residential setting and through outpatient services. Unfortunately, they have closed permanently.
Clinical Stabilization and Medication Support
Their inpatient treatment programs were gender separated, providing safe and supportive gender specific care. Through inpatient care, you would have received services including clinical stabilization, intervention services, and recovery management services.
Their clinical stabilization process relied heavily on peer support through what they described as a “pull up” process. Through this, you would’ve been encouraged to rely on your community of peers to help pull you up when you reach lows in your recovery.
Depending on your needs, however, medication support was included to help you further stabilize your body. You would’ve worked with their Med/Psych Service Group where medication assisted treatment was used alongside medical supervision to help manage your biological response to stabilization. These services were also available to pregnant and postpartum women.
Their medical support services were also used as a way to triage, assess, treat, and refer you to more specialized services if you needed them.
Structured and Supportive Care
You would’ve found that the programs here were very well structured and largely rooted in evidence based practices. Still, there was a sense of community here, and you would’ve been encouraged to connect with peers and build meaningful connections.
The support staff here offered compassionate, timely care to support you in the way you needed as you progressed through your recovery plan.
Relapse Treatment Programs
It’s important to note that there were several programs here that addressed specific struggles you were facing. For example, there was a relapse treatment program here if you had struggled with maintaining your sobriety.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
-
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox programs offer medical support to help individuals withdraw safely from alcohol. Your care team may use medications to ease your symptoms and provide medical monitoring to address complications.
-
Drug Detox
Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.
