About Phoenix House of New England Phoenix House Exeter Center
With clients coming from across the country, the Walsh Unit accepts payment from most health insurance carriers as well as self-paying clients. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help explain insurance and self-pay procedures. All major credit cards are accepted.
Clients are admitted by registered nurses 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and each is screened upon admission by a licensed physician under the medical guidance of Dr. Sylvester (Skip) Sviokla, to determine the appropriate course of treatment for drug or alcohol addiction. The program is staffed at all times with a team of highly credentialed, licensed counselors who work closely with each client to develop a treatment plan focusing on individual medical needs, detoxification issues, and aftercare following discharge.
The average length of stay for medically monitored detoxification is up to seven days, with an extended stay option of up to 30 days available for those who have completed detoxification but are not yet ready to face the stress of daily life. This may be followed by several weeks of continuing recovery and rehabilitative care. During their stay, all clients participate in an individualized treatment planning process that identifies their strengths, needs, and preferences, while establishing goals with specific and measurable objectives. In addition, clients take part in one-on-one counseling sessions and group meetings, as well as on-site AA and NA groups to help them acclimate to sobriety.
