About Porter Starke Services – Portage Campus
Porter Starke Services – Portage Campus is a mental health and addiction treatment center based in Portage, Indiana. For those over the age of 18 who are experiencing addiction to opiates, they can provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) and counseling. They use methadone and/or Suboxone in conjunction with addiction counseling.
Specialized Resources for Seniors
Porter Starke has created a host of resources about substance use, mental health and exercise. The heart behind them is to make information readily available and easy to understand so you can make informed, purposeful decisions about your health. They have printable guides and cards, worksheets, a digital wellbeing tool, printable posters and educational programs.
Something great about these resources is that a lot of them are specifically written for older adults. Depression, isolation and substance use are often under-diagnosed in older adults and it’s important to be proactive about your health as you mature.
Some of these sources talk about the impact of alcohol on older adults, the types of binge drinking behaviors to be on the lookout for as you age, the difference between depression and sadness, and how to age healthily. They also have a podcast called Matters of Substance that talks about healthy aging and issues relating to substance misuse.
Mobile Crisis Team for Immediate Care
The Mobile Crisis Team is available to respond to mental or behavioral health crises. The team meets you where you are and stabilizes the situation through quick assessment, compassionate support and prompt care. Once you’ve stabilized, they’ll get you connected with programs or facilities that can best meet your needs and help you on the journey to healing.

-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
