About Preferred Behavioral Health Group
Located in Lakewood, New Jersey, Preferred Behavioral Health Group is a substance abuse treatment facility that treats teens and adults. They offer ambulatory and inpatient medical detox, medication assisted treatment, intensive outpatient programs and general outpatient programs.
Medical detox is a safe and effective way for individuals to go through substance withdrawal. Under the careful supervision of health professionals, patients are able to purge substances from their systems. Depending on the needs and symptoms of a client, medications may be administered during this process.
MAT uses FDA approved medication such as Suboxone, Sublocade, and Vivitrol to ease alcohol and drug addiction. In addition, patients will have access to individual counseling and therapy and medication evaluation and management.
One of the highlights of treatment at Preferred Behavioral Health Group is their peer recovery support services. Peer support specialists are individuals who are in recovery and can give hope and encouragement to those in treatment.

This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
