About The Ringer Center
The complete name of our facility is “The Marguerite Burke Ringer Mental Health Center.” We offer outpatient services only. Our clients come to see us because they are not enjoying their lives as they might. We commonly treat people for depression, anxiety, stress related problems, family problems, attention deficit and substance abuse. The first session with us is an evaluation and assessment process that helps us make a plan for success. We offer individual and family counseling. Although our primary services are for adults, we are qualified and skilled at treating adolescents and some children over the age of five.
We are licensed by the state of NC to provide DWI assessments. We are one of the few providers who are also credentialed to meet the strict new Department of Transportation guidelines for substance abuse assessment and treatment. We were also selected by the Guilford County Court System to provide “The First Offenders Program.” We also offer outpatient detoxification services for those clients who may not afford inpatient or elect to try and detoxify from alcohol or other drugs without a hospital admission. Our substance abuse services are second to none and we offer individual counseling or the more intensive outpatient program depending on your level of need. We follow a twelve stepped based philosophy and have seven clinicians, three of whom are licensed substance abuse counselors and who are also recovering themselves – for a combined forty years. We have a psychiatrist and two psychiatric nurse practitioners who provide us with necessary medication management. We all enjoy our sober life styles and hope to help others find recovery.
We offer a continuum of care for those suffering from alcohol or other drug abuse beginning with an initial evaluation with the clinical director or an equally qualified and licensed substance abuse counselor. We offer an “ambulatory detox” or outpatient detox services that often utilize the same medications one might receive while in a hospital setting. The patient can continue to work and live at home while beginning an outpatient treatment regimen created just for them.
We can provide individual, group, family and medication management services to those seeking treatment for substance abuse. Most, if not all, of these services are covered by insurance. If not, we will make a payment plan to allow virtually anyone access to these services. We only ask that you come prepared to do the work necessary to make recovery from substance abuse a reality for you. The Ringer Center offers the only Intensive Outpatient Programs in the Greensboro area that meet in the mornings, at noon and in the evenings. No matter what your schedule we can design a program that will work for you.

Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
Detox Service Setting
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
