About River Crest Hospital
Based in San Angelo, Texas, River Crest Hospital is an accredited 80-bed acute care hospital and health facility specializing in mental health and addiction treatment. Care is available to individuals of all ages, including families and those with co-occurring mental or behavioral health conditions. In terms of payment, they accept various commercial insurance providers.
For adults aged 18 and older struggling with substance abuse, the first step is often detox. Since this can be a vulnerable time for many, medical supervision is provided to ensure as smooth an experience as possible. Emphasis throughout this process is on helping clients acknowledge and address the unhealthy behavioral patterns that have led them to substance abuse. All the while, 24-hour observation and integrated treatment are provided. Detox here is provided as an inpatient program lasting roughly three to five days. From here, clients typically transition to inpatient drug rehab programming.
Throughout inpatient care, clients can expect hospitalization services and a personalized treatment plan to help address their unique situation and needs. Individual, group and family therapy sessions are provided, as well as addiction education and 12 Step programming. For those with co-occurring disorders or mental health issues, great care will be taken to treat these alongside substance abuse issues. Counselors are on hand to address signs of relapse and help clients develop healthier coping strategies without resorting back to substance abuse. Onsite AA meetings are also provided, and follow-up care plans and programming are offered once clients complete their primary treatment.
Some individuals may go on to take part in the hospital’s intensive outpatient program (IOP). Designed to stabilize and support problem areas, this program is ideal for those looking for flexible continued support as they transition back to independent living. Participants can continue with a regular study or work routine while engaging with this program. They attend individual and group therapy sessions during the day or in the evenings depending on what suits their schedule best. Transport options are even provided to eliminate this as a barrier to treatment. How often individuals attend their sessions will depend on their personal needs.

-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
