About Roger Williams Medical Center Addiction Services Center
Our integrated outpatient program is designed for people who need a structured support system to achieve early recovery from addiction. The ASC is staffed by a multi-disciplinary treatment team including physicians, nurses, and clinicians.
Every new patient is seen for an initial assessment in order to identify the best course and level of treatment. We strive to schedule initial appointments for all new patients within 3 business days and can often offer same-day appointments.
The Partial Hospitalization program is designed for medically stable individuals who need the structure and intensity of a daily treatment program, but who can return home safely each evening. This multidisciplinary program runs Monday –Friday, 9am -2pm and the average length of stay is 2 weeks, although this varies depending on patient need. This program is designed for patients who have successfully completed inpatient care, or who are otherwise at risk for needing inpatient hospitalization, and are seeking additional treatment and support to aid with recovery. Maintaining sobriety can be as challenging as attaining sobriety. Patients are educated about the recovery process and provided with the tools needed to stay sober.
Our IOP offers group therapy to individuals who need a structured treatment program, but who may not require the intensity of a partial hospitalization program. Patients attend 9 hours of structured group therapy per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am-12pm). This program is run by a multidisplinary team including behavioral health clinicians, nurses, and physicians. Psychiatric consultation is also available.
Medications are an important element of treatment for many patients, especially when combined with counseling and other behavioral therapies. Patients at the ASC are evaluated, monitored, and treated by our certified addiction medicine physicians who offer Suboxone treatment among other options. MAT is a service available to all patients at the ASC, including patients who are participating in our PHP and IOP. We do not provide Methadone.
