About Sacred Heart – Madison Heights
Sacred Heart of suburban Madison Heights, Michigan, provides adults in the greater Detroit area with outpatient substance abuse treatment. The organization is CARF-accredited and they’re members of the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers. They do accept insurance and work with regional prepaid inpatient health plans.
While you are enrolled in the outpatient program, you’re able to receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). You will receive medication administration and support. Depending on your substance use history, will be dependent on the medication you will receive. All medications are FDA approved.
The medications they provide will ease your withdrawal symptoms. Your cravings for substances will also be reduced. By addressing and eliminating your withdrawal symptoms, you’ll be able to focus on your treatment and recovery.
I like that their outpatient services can be done both in person or via telehealth. This service is provided as a continuation of care, after you make sufficient progress and complete your residential treatment program. Their outpatient level of care will blend group therapy, individual counseling, didactic group therapy, family therapy, wellness groups and specialty groups.
What stood out to me is the different forms of group interactions. I like it because it is the start of creating your own sober community. You’ll be able to learn from your peers’ experiences, as they learn from your experiences. It will also help you not feel alone in your recovery to long term sobriety. You’ll also have a chance to address trauma and what led you to addiction during your individual therapy sessions.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
