About Saint Anthonys OP (St. Christopher’s Inn)
St. Christopher’s Inn is a residential facility for the treatment of alcohol and substance use disorders in Garrison, New York. The residential treatment program is exclusively for men and stays can last from six months to a year. They also offer a day rehabilitation program and outpatient treatment that still allows clients to stay at the Inn for extra stability and security as they get back on their feet. Following treatment, clients typically transition into sober houses or halfway houses to help maintain their recovery.
As part of its treatment programming, St. Christopher’s Inn offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help clients wean off alcohol and illicit drugs. While not the same as medical detoxing, MAT enables clients to break free of chemical dependency using prescription medications that relieve cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms. Prescription medications are combined with proven talking therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and 12 step meetings to help improve recovery outcomes.
Other services included in personalized treatment plans are individual therapy, group counseling, medication management for mental health conditions, recovery and health education, spiritual guidance, grief and loss support groups, educational and vocational services, peer support and a family support program.
While in residence, clients also have the opportunity to participate in art therapy, choir practice, nature walks, encouragement groups, and exercise, yoga and other recreational activities.
