About Salvation Army Harbor Light System Subst Abuse Ctr/Women/Children/Men
The Salvation Army Harbor Light is a faith based drug and alcohol rehab based in Detroit, Michigan. Detroit is known as The Motor City for its global influence on the automotive industry. When it comes to addiction recovery, they have more no-cost, CARF-accredited, live-in recovery centers than most other programs in the US. Whether you need residential or office based treatment, they can help you.
You’ll be treated in their spacious facility in a commercial area of town that feels park-like with trees and beautiful lawns. Your detox will take between three and five days, using the addiction medication, Suboxone. Their withdrawal process is usually described as sub-acute. This means you’ll be able to stay involved with your loved ones and other commitments while working on recovery.
In addition to detox, they also have a special track for women, legal advocacy services, and grief counseling. If you have a mental health disorder, they can tackle that as well.
The focus of their treatment is to reduce harmful habits by replacing them with meaningful activities to restore dignity and purpose. As your recovery progresses, you’ll begin to feel better. Restoration happens over time and you’ll find yourself becoming hopeful. Those dreams of a happy, fulfilling life will seem within reach. They have a special love for Military Veterans and older adults.
As you recover, you may find your love for reading rekindling. If so, Detroit is home to John K. King Used & Rare Books. This bookshop is so big, they give you a map to navigate the four floors that hold more than a million books.
Downtown Detroit has no less than three professional sports venues. If you love football, baseball, hockey or basketball, this city has plenty of great sober activities for you to get involved with.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
