Intensive Outpatient and Dual Diagnosis Care

The adult IOP is available to adults aged 18 and older with a primary mental health diagnosis. Individuals with a co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD) may also receive care here, with accommodations made to offer more targeted addiction treatment in tandem with mental health care services.

This program is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility in their recovery, with treatment services structured across three days throughout the week for a total of nine hours. This allows participants to continue with their work, study or family commitments. The program typically takes place for around 8-12 weeks, depending on individuals’ progress and needs.

The primary method of care is group therapy which offers a safe and supportive environment to share experiences while gaining insights from peers. Participants also learn practical recovery and communication skills in each session.

Alongside group sessions, participants can expect to engage in individual and family sessions. Individual sessions take place once a week, while family therapy sessions are scheduled as needed. Experiential therapy options are also regularly available through group sessions and include art therapy, mindfulness and guided imagery.

Medication management services with designated nursing staff are also available on a weekly basis. This service can provide support for medication assisted treatment (MAT) and other prescribed medications.

Inpatient Mental Health Care in Northern California

This location also features a 133-bed inpatient mental health facility for adults and teens. Here clients can access more intensive treatment for a wide range of mental and behavioral issues.
