Shawnee Mission Medical Center Addiction Recovery Unit Claimed

Following a comprehensive assessment, clients will begin their recovery process. Clients who require detoxification from opioids, alcohol, or other drugs may start with MAT services, which allow them to safely withdraw from those substances under medical supervision. As needed, providers may administer FDA-approved addiction medications to reduce the severity of physical withdrawal symptoms, control cravings, and lower the risk of relapse.

In addition to MAT, treatment plans may also include inpatient and outpatient treatment. Both programs are designed to help clients better understand their addictions, address underlying issues, and create a foundation for long-term recovery. Available services include individual, group, and family therapy, medication management, spiritual care, nutritional counseling, and holistic therapies such as yoga.
